Super easy and so gosh darn good, this holiday ham recipe is perfect for sharing. Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham is a vintage recipe, and you can add as much pineapple as you like. We all fight over the pineapple rings, and the ham is delicately flavored with the pineapple. It's perfect for Christmas, Easter, or anytime you're feeding a crowd!
Remove the packaging from the pre-cooked ham and place it in an oven-safe casserole dish. Rest the ham on the counter for 1 hour to take the chill off of it. It’ll heat up more evenly this way.
Place the slices of pineapple between the ham’s spiral cuts, then drizzle the juice from the can over the ham.
Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the pineapple slices and ham, adjusting the amount based on your preferred level of sweetness.
Cover the ham with aluminum foil and cook in the oven for 1.5 hours. The cooking time may vary depending on the ham’s size, but you just want to heat it through.
Baste the ham with the pan juices 2-3 times during the baking time.
Slice the ham and serve it with the caramelized pineapple slices as a garnish.
Notes
Chef Jenn’s Tips
Use canned pineapple in juice rather than syrup for a natural sweetness.
Adjust the brown sugar to taste if you prefer a less sweet glaze.
For a bolder flavor, try adding a small amount of ground cloves or cinnamon to the brown sugar.
